Is ventilation or air conditioning required for the MS-7K-U batteries?
Guidance on ventilation, cooling and environmental requirements for MS-7K-U battery installations
The MS-7K-U batteries are designed for an ambient operating temperature of -20°C to 55°C. The recommended operating temperature for optimum battery performance is 0°C to 30°C.
Under normal operation, the MS-7K-U battery does not require ventilation.
However, if the environment is sealed or hot, air conditioning is recommended to maintain the battery within its optimum operating temperature range and minimise thermal derating. Where air conditioning is installed, a recommended temperature setpoint is approximately 25°C ± 5°C.

The ventilation control strategy should also be coordinated with the fire protection design. While the battery incorporates its own internal fire suppression measures, any additional ventilation shutdown, exhaust, fire detection, or suppression requirements should be determined according to the local fire regulations and project-specific fire safety design.
