[Site Configuration](https://support.atmoce-au.com/knowledge-base/site-configuration?hsLang=en-gb) 17 September 2026 # Peak Shaving Settings ## Steps to configure system peak load shaving settings on the Atmozen app Peak load shaving limits the maximum power imported from the grid by using the battery to support the load during periods of high demand during a defined time period. The Atmoce system continuously monitors the **grid import power**. When the grid import exceeds the configured peak power limit, the battery automatically discharges to supply the excess load demand and reduce power drawn from the grid. This function is particularly useful for sites with varying electricity tariffs. To preserve sufficient battery energy for peak shaving, it is recommended to enable [**Grid Recharging**](https://support.atmoce-au.com/knowledge-base/battery-working-modes?hsLang=en-gb). Peak shaving has a higher control priority than **Self-powered**, **Time of Use (TOU)**, and **AI Mode**. When peak shaving conditions are met, the system will prioritise peak shaving operation. --- ### Example - **Max. Peak Shave Limit:** 5 kW - **Site load:** 8 kW - **PV generation:** 0 kW **Without peak shaving** activated, grid import will be 8 kW. **With peak shaving** activated, the battery will discharge 3 kW, and the grid import will be reduced to 5 kW. --- ### Instructions 1. Click on the **...** at the top right of the app. 2. Enter the **Peak-shaving Reserved Energy**, 1. This is the minimum battery level reserved for peak shaving scenarios. 6. Click **+ Add Time Period**. 7.
